The return of Fauves: ‘Sweet Nothing’

The Glaswegian art funk collective, Fauves, are back with their first release of the year in the form of ‘Sweet Nothing’, providing a strong continuation in to their unique blend of synth-pop and funk with arguably their biggest-sounding and most infectious chorus yet.

Featuring in the New In Alternative Playlist curated by Apple Music, the new hit from the vibrant Glaswegian outfit reinforces their status as a strong leader of the successful indie/ synth sound. The tune is anchored through means of a pounding funk-esque bassline accompanied by enchanting vocal melodies and catchy keyboard playing. Through melancholic lyrics and vocal harmonisation, Fauves achieve yet another excellent chorus which is evidently such a powerful element to their creative process.

The anticipated release of new sounds is accompanied by a narrative-style music video, portraying the almost magic bond of relationships through visual storytelling. Produced by Humble Film Productions, the onscreen couple appear to be attempting to harness some form of paranormal power of levitation. Check it out below.

The release of the new single was not long after the group announced a support slot for Declan Welsh and the Decadent West alongside Spyres at the Barrowlands Glasgow, on Friday November 18th. With a few festival appearances under their belt already this year with the likes of Stag and Dagger (Glasgow) and Doune the Rabbit Hole (Stirlingshire), the night in the iconic Barra’s is set to be a classic with such talented bands on the bill. Tickets can be found through either of the band’s social media pages or on Ticket Web and Ticketmaster, with the links to Fauves’ socials down below.
